A journal entry on redirecting, redefining, and remembering

Sharing this journal entry of mine from yesterday (see picture below). These past few weeks have been challenging in knowing where to direct my efforts. I’ve been here before, and although it is not the most fun, I have historically gotten out of these kinds of funks. How? Writing, making a plan, checking in with myself, slowly (but diligently) taking action. Emphasis on slowly though. I want to do it like intentional practice: by going at 40 bpm. I want to take every step fully aware, knowing that my brain is leading the way and that my whole body –as one, unanimously– decides to move.

Therefore yesterday, waking up from a long sleep of mind wandering, I started this process of redirecting, redefining, and remembering. Redirecting: all efforts towards my next destination, my next creation. Redefining: exactly what that next destination is, how it connects to an ultimate one; and on top of all how that ultimate one has changed and evolved since I last checked in. Remembering: coming back to myself, listening to my mind and its state, getting in touch with what I like to call “esa esencia original.”

I hope this helps you, like it helped me. And I hope you find the ways in which you redirect and reconnect with what matters to you. Being an artist is fun, and the challenge and the beauty is –to me– the same: you(it) never stop(s).
